Technical Analyst (Student Assistant) for an ambitious wind farm asset management consultancy working globally

Your tasks

You will be based in our Copenhagen office. You will be working in average 20 hours per week subject to your study schedule and requirements from our Clients.

Your task will primarily be:

  • Responsibility for the development of our data architecture based on popular cloud platforms
  • Automated data collection from renewable assets requiring setting up VPN tunnels and scheduling jobs to retrieve data from various sources (ODBC, SFTP, email accounts) on a regular basis
  • Develop and maintain SQL databases and create Power BI dashboards for issuing to our Clients
  • Carry out analytics on specific operational issues for Clients and create bespoke visualization templates
  • Development of data-driven operational service offerings for new Clients with a focus on data application.
  • Tool and Product development in Microsoft Excel (e.g. Project Management tools)

 

Your qualifications

You are currently studying for your Bachelor’s degree or have recently started a Master’s program, are among the best in the year and scoring high on both academical and interpersonal competences. You are proactive, adaptive and apply a ‘can-do’ approach to completion of tasks. You are structured, results-driven and like to find smarter and more efficient ways to solve problems.

Your goal is to become be a Technical Analyst, IT-architect, Data Analyst with programming skills or similar. You have experience with SQL, Microsoft Power BI and an understanding of data storage and flow when working in a cloud environment. You are able to create bespoke scripts working in languages such as C#, Java, Python or similar. It is a prerequisite that you are an expert user of Microsoft Excel and have strong English communication skills.

Operational Asset Manager – PEAK Wind US Inc.

The new Operational Asset Manager will be one of the first employees to support the development and growth of the company in the US.

The ideal candidate for the Operational Asset Manager position will have solid experience in monitoring and managing infrastructure assets and identifying potential for increased productivity and efficiency. The Operational Asset Manager will work as Owner’s representative and should be self-driven, an excellent communicator on all levels and have an entrepreneurial spirit.

Key responsibilities

Main areas of responsibility will be ensuring the performance of a +1GW portfolio of operational wind and solar projects on behalf of the customer. Areas of responsibility and tasks include:

  • Managing and interacting with key contractors and ensure delivery on agreed services
  • Managing revenue and OPEX budgets for all projects
  • Managing asset management agreements and other operational contracts
  • Driving relevant operational meetings with owner and contractors
  • Ensuring reporting and communication regarding the projects to the owner
  • Managing hedge agreements
  • Optimizing operational performance by means of new hedge agreements, supplier reviews etc.
  • Ensuring cash calls, distributions, invoicing etc. for operational projects

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree within a relevant commercial or engineering field of studies
  • 5+ years of asset management experience preferably within renewable energy industries
  • Proven commercial and business judgment skills
  • Excellent team and people management skills
  • A self-starter with the ability to work under pressure
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
  • Work permit for the US

You will act as an engineer with responsibility for a range of operations preparation tasks. Your assignments will include:

  • Developing offshore O&M strategies and logistical concepts;
  • Assessing technical concepts and cost drivers for offshore wind in US;
  • Creating local content strategies for O&M;
  • Managing O&M interfaces towards EPC packages (wind turbine package, foundation package, etc.);
  • Developing and maintaining an OPEX cost model for the project and validate modelling assumptions;
  • Evaluating the US supply chain for O&M services and engage with potential suppliers.

You have a technical or operational engineering background with 2 to 5 years of experience. You have had commercial exposure in your studies or from your first job. Ideally, you have worked within the wind energy industry or energy sector, but we do not expect offshore wind experience.

 Your tasks

You will be based at our client’s office in Taipei (Taiwan) together with ~7 PEAK Wind colleagues as well as the client’s organization of ~70 people. Here you will take responsibility for all financial project activities on one of our clients’ offshore wind farms through development and construction phase.

You will be responsible for all financial and accounting aspects and deliver financial transparency to maximize value creation – together with your finance team. Additionally, you will be part of the project’s senior management team and steering committee. Responsibilities include:

  • take responsibility for financial management, including management of finance team, business case assumptions, systems, planning, budgeting and implementation of processes;
  • provide reporting on financial performance, liquidity, risks and budgets to internal stakeholders, steering committees, and shareholders;
  • ensure correct implementation of finance requirements into EPCI contracts, including VAT, tax, customs and payment terms;
  • Be part of further developing PEAK Wind’s financial service offerings by sharpening our financial toolbox and building relationship with key decisions makers

Your qualifications

You have finance experience with long-term asset investments in a JV-setup. Ideally, you have been working with several offshore wind projects already. You are proactive, adaptive and a ‘can-do’ person combined with a structured and result-driven approach to problem solving. You have a financial background with natural flair for structure and coordination. Your mindset is outgoing, and you communicate effortlessly with stakeholders at all levels.

It is a requirement that you are open for an expatriation of at least 2-3 years.

Your tasks

Within the area of Balance of Plant, you will be working on offshore wind farm projects throughout their life-cycle – from development to operations – providing both project management and technical expertise. Internally in PEAK Wind you will also take the responsibility of further strengthening our Balance of Plant team and competences. Example assignments include:

  • Support the projects in the O&M concept development by providing best practice input for the BoP area
  • Develop and formulate O&M requirements for the individual BoP supplier packages (cables, foundations, sub-station, SCADA etc.) during the development and construction phases
  • Participate in the negotiations with service contractors during both the procurement and execution phase
  • With an Asset Integrity mindset, develop standardized and project specific service and maintenance concepts
  • Project manage and support operating assets with asset integrity management and larger campaigns
  • Develop new PEAK Wind products and services in the field

You will be based in one of our offices in Copenhagen or Aarhus (Denmark), Taipei (Taiwan), or our upcoming office on the US east coast from where you will have recurrent presence at client or project offices. Depending on your desires and our project pipeline an expatriation may be pursued.

Your qualifications

You have a broad experience and skill-set from offshore wind with focus on the operations of Balance of Plant assets. Ideally, you have been working with a number of offshore wind projects already. You are proactive, adaptive and a ‘can-do’ person combined with a structured and result-driven approach to problem solving. You have a technical or operational engineering background with natural flair for commercial topics.
