We are now looking for a contract manager to assume the position as Commercial Contract Manager.

Contract responsibility for a +350 MW Onshore Wind Power Asset

With reference to the Project Operations Director, you will be instrumental in following up and managing all the contracts and related commercial matters between the project company and third parties from the start of operation onwards. Such contracts include, not only main service agreements but also specialist consultancy, engineering services, equipment supply, EPC agreements, offtake agreement (PPA) and other third-party interfaces.

From PEAK Wind’s Spain office in Zaragoza (Spain) you will be responsible for all contract related interfaces and ensure that all contract terms are respected. Your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Manage service contracts, ensuring that all key contractual requirements are complied with by our contractors, including wind turbine operator and BoP service providers
  • Ensure all contractual and commercial obligations on the employer are met on behalf of our client, including control measures designated to minimize contractual and commercial risks
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory provisions in the wind farm permitting, lease and power purchase agreements
  • Project manage and coordinate resolution of service performance issues and warranties to ensure a prompt and successful resolution of issues with contractors
  • Dealing with contract administration and management, commercial issues, claims and variations
  • Ownership of overall contract and commercial register, including its development and maintenance
  • Work closely with Senior Site Engineer on the evaluation of potential contractual and commercial impacts of a (technical) decision
  • Lead on certain procurement activities, including implementation of sourcing strategies aligned with procurement objectives, with the approved budget and in compliance with governance and purchasing procedures
  • Provide commercial and contractual support for ad hoc purchasing requests and contract related queries including negotiations of small contracts and/or extensions of key contracts  
  • Liaise and manage relationship with local stakeholders, landowners, residents and authorities
  • Be the project’s focal point for international suppliers and/or consultants
  • Provide administrative support on project related tasks
  • Conduct regular commercial reporting to senior management team and to client steerco on any contractual and commercial matter

Best-in-class Contract Manager with a strong Client Focus

As a minimum, you have a B.Sc. in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering or similar (an MBA would be considered a plus). More than that you have at least five years of professional experience in a similar role, bringing strong contract management experience in Onshore or Offshore Wind projects with specific knowledge of FIDIC or BIMCO agreements. You have experience and have worked with some, or all the following main project contracts: TSA, SMA, BOP and PPA. You can easily navigate through main terms and understand critical contract implications of business and technical decisions.

You are commercially savvy, with a solid contract mindset for details and you work with a structured and result-driven approach to problem solving. You can communicate fluently in Spanish and English, orally and in writing. Your mindset is outgoing, and you communicate effortlessly with stakeholders at all levels. People tell you that you are a great listener and a team player, who can work independently and under pressure.
