End of Warranty (EoW) is one of the key phases in an offshore wind farm’s lifetime and its Warranty Management as it describes the phase before and until defect notification period (DNP) expires. Having a structured approach towards the expiry of the turbine supply agreement (TSA) is key to optimize the contract value for wind farm owners.

The EoW process should start two years prior DNP expiry  to ensure a smooth process being in line with owner’s overall post-DNP operational strategy and allowing the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) sufficient time to remedy defects notified by the owner. End of Warranty projects consist of several workstreams and involve different functions across the owner’s organization. Therefore, well-defined EoW planning considering main EoW activities is key in bridging both commercial and technical aspects and delivering a successful EoW project.
