We are now looking for a technical professional to assume the position as Senior Site Engineer.

Operational responsibility for a +350 MW Onshore Wind Power Asset

With reference to the Project Operations Director, you will primarily be responsible for the day-to-day activities of the wind farm and that the project remains compliant with all statutory and local requirements. You will be focusing on the technical performance of the project from the employers/owners’ side.

From PEAK Wind’s office in Zaragoza (Spain) your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Manage technical suppliers and service providers on technical issues, including following up of technical investigations, defects resolution and lead on the continuous improvement of the integrity performance of the wind farm.
  • Take part of quality assurance activities, including organizing and taking part of regular inspections of the site including wind turbines, BOP and the substation.
  • Lead the day to day engagement with wind turbine operator and other service providers. Ensure periodic meetings with contractors are established and key actions are achieved.
  • Coordinate the wind farm maintenance plan between the different wind farm packages (WTG, BoP and substations).
  • Monitor wind farm forecasts, production and engage in dialogue with the wind turbine operator and the BoP service providers to optimize production of wind farm.
  • Drive HSE initiates and manage the HSE risks in close cooperation with the wind turbine operator and the BoP service providers.
  • Monitor Spanish HSE legislation and ensure implementation in the wind farm HSE management systems.
  • Maintain the asset integrity overview of the wind farm including asset integrity register, and technical risk register.
  • Be responsible for the development of overall site standards and procedures and ensure these are adhered to by the different contractors on site.
  • Complete monthly reports including production, availability, technical issues, HSE as well as report any technical matter to senior management and support the resolution of any issue as appropriate.
  • Travel to wind farm site whenever needed.

Best-in-class Site Engineer with a strong Operational Focus

You have a B.Sc. in Engineering or an equivalent technical qualification. More than that, you have at least five years of professional experience in a similar role and you are expected to have field experience with onshore wind projects. You are computer literate with a good knowledge of MS Office and SCADA knowledge will be considered a clear advantage. You possess a driver’s license (Category B).

You are an excellent team player, goal-oriented and possess strong stakeholder relationship skills. You are technically trained, and you thrive on being at the project site, taking the lead on daily operational tasks. You are able to report potential problems in a timely and precise manner. You can communicate fluently in Spanish and in English, orally and in writing. Your mindset is outgoing, and you communicate effortlessly with stakeholders at all levels. People tell you that you are a great listener and a team player, who can work independently and under pressure.
