OPEX Input Assumptions – Checklist

This PEAK Wind Products Checklist provides a generic checklist on most relevant OPEX input assumptions for the development of OPEX budgets for offshore wind farms.

Offshore Wind Operations and maintenance (O&M) activities represent up to 40 % of total lifetime costs of an offshore wind farm (OWF). To evaluate the project economy, risks and opportunities, it is key to develop and continuously adapt an accurate Operational Expenditure (OPEX) budget covering the entire OWF lifetime.

Developing an OPEX budget based on a comprehensive mathematical model requires well-founded input assumptions covering all relevant O&M costs.  Therefore, a detailed OPEX model reflecting the total cost of O&M activities consists of several hundred input parameters – all of them contributing to the accuracy of the model.
