Driving Sustainable Impact in Renewable Energy

PEAK Wind is strengthening its commitment to sustainability. To enhance and improve our sustainability efforts, we have taken a structured look at how our operations impact people, the environment, and society. 

Our Sustainability Report outlines the areas where we can drive the most value across the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) pillars. Built around the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), the report establishes a baseline for performance and provides direction for future progress. 

By aligning our efforts with evolving regulatory standards and industry best practices, we aim to deliver long-term value for our clients, employees, investors, and the communities we serve.

Our Approach and Focus

  • Sustainability Focus and Path: We focus on key areas including Best-in-Class Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ), Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), and Renewables Expansion. Our integrated approach embeds sustainability into operations, promotes safety and mental health, supports the green transition, and ensures transparency through clear HSEQ reporting.
  • Disclosure Requirements and Materiality Assessment: We prioritise key sustainability areas, disclose ESG requirements voluntarily, and align with ESRS guidelines. Our approach includes assessing ESRS data points and engaging focus groups for materiality assessment. The outcome highlights the areas with the greatest stakeholder and financial impacts. These will continuously be tracked to enhance performance.

Sustainability and Global Operations

  • Environmental Impact: In 2024, we managed over 2.6 GW of offshore and onshore wind capacity (including operated and contracted assets), contributing to the avoidance of approximately 1.43 million tonnes of CO₂e Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions. One notable example is the Monegros Wind Portfolio (487 MW of onshore wind capacity located in Aragon, Spain) which generated enough electricity to power around 460,000 homes while reduced CO₂ emissions by an estimated 366,750 tonnes annually.
  • GHG Emission Assessment: In 2024, we reviewed our GHG emissions and identified business travel and purchased goods as the largest sources. We used the spend-based method for our calculations but plan to improve our approach in 2025 as part of our net-zero transition plan. Our goals are to enhance the accuracy of our reporting.

Corporate Culture and Business Conduct

  • DEI and Youth Board: Last year, we introduced the DEI Policy and DEI Board to promote fairness, dignity, and respect. The DEI Board, chaired by Louise Haahr, our COO, includes members from diverse backgrounds and focuses on fostering inclusion. We also established a Youth Board to amplify young professionals' voices and drive sustainability initiatives. These efforts ensure diverse perspectives contribute to our sustainable growth.
  • Policy and Implementation: Our integrated management system, The Volt, unifies standards and processes for efficiency and sustainability. The Whistleblower Policy allows anonymous reporting of unethical activities, while the Global Travel Policy promotes environmentally responsible travel. In 2024, we reviewed and resolved one whistleblower report and had zero convictions or fines for anti-corruption and anti-bribery laws.
