PEAK Wind has been contracted to deliver the Operations and Asset Management of Buffalo Plains Wind Farm beginning 1st October 2024.
The Asset Management Agreement (AMA) will provide full-scope management on behalf of the owners, including HSE, finance, commercial, operational and balance of plant management – all with a focus to ensure the project is a best-in-class operating asset for all stakeholders.
Buffalo Plains Wind Farm, located in Alberta, boasts a 494 MW capacity and spans over 17500 acres with 83 turbines (a combination of SGRE 5.2MW & 6.6MW platforms), enough to supply a city of more than 240,000 homes with clean energy. Currently under construction, it will be a cornerstone in Canada’s renewable energy sector and an important part of the country’s clean energy strategy.
Construction began on the project, owned by Copenhagen Infrastructure IV (CI IV), a fund managed by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, last year. The project started delivering power in August 2024.
Buffalo Plains is the latest addition to PEAK Wind’s fast-growing global portfolio, consisting of 2.1GW of wind assets under management – with around 700MW in North America, 500MW in Europe and 900MW of offshore wind in Taiwan, reflecting the capabilities in managing large-scale renewable energy projects.
